Familiar surroundings
The familiar surroundings of your home can help you feel at ease, letting your body and mind relax more deeply during the massage. A stress-free environment contributes to increased therapeutic effects, reducing stress and anxiety levels.
OUR TREATMENTS
Swedish Massage
The most common type of massage therapy, Swedish massage will help to relax you with a combination of specific movements, including muscle kneading and rolling, long sweeping strokes and friction.
The massage will likely start with the long, sweeping strokes and end with the same motion. Muscle kneading will be used throughout to help work out tense muscles, while friction may be applied with fingertips, knuckles, and the thumb if the muscle requires deeper pressure.
Deep Tissue massage
Deep tissue massage offers both physical and psychological benefits. It can relieve muscle pain and stiffness and provide stress-relieving relaxation for the body and mind, using stronger pressure. Deep tissue massage is a massage technique that’s mainly used to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries.
Myofascial release
Myofascial release is hands-on, manual therapy, using sustained pressure or traction from the therapist’s hands into hardened and thickened tissues and scar tissues in your body.
Myoskeletal Massage
This technique helps to restore function in the skeletal system through muscular work. The technique involves restive stretching and muscle-balancing techniques with joint-mobilisation maneuvers. These manoeuvres help to quickly identify and correct dysfunction before they become pain patterns.
Pregnancy Massage
Prenatal and Postnatal massages are usually gentler than many other massage techniques. Additionally, they will often focus more on techniques that aid the circulatory and lymphatic systems to help ensure a healthy flow of blood to mother and baby and effective removal of toxins and waste (prenatal) and help restore body balance after birth (postnatal).
Note: This massage is performed with the client lying down on their side for maximum comfort. Cannot be performed if client is less than 9 weeks pregnant or less than 3 weeks after birth.
Tui Na Massage
Tui Na (pronounced twee-nah) massage originated in China. Along with acupuncture, qi gong, and Chinese herbal medicine, it’s one of the four main branches of traditional Chinese medicine.
It’s based on the theory that imbalances of qi, which is the body’s vital life force or energy, can cause blockages or imbalances that lead to symptoms such as pain and illness. Tuina massage is similar to acupuncture in that it targets specific acupoints, but practitioners use fingers instead of needles to apply pressure to stimulate these points. Tuina massage is often used in combination with acupuncture.
WHAT DO I NEED?
